Youth

C4 Explosive Youth is a relational ministry that exists to reach out to unbelieving youth, to connect them to other Christians to help them grow in their faith, and to challenge growing Christians to discover their ministry and honor God with their life.

The 4 C’s that make up C4 are: Christ, character, calling and community. One or more of those values are present in everything the youth of NHF do.

Youth Celebration, Sundays at 11:00am

New Horizons offers a Celebration designed especially for tweens and teens (students grades 6-12).

This Celebration takes place on Sundays at 11:00am in the Annex, three doors down the sidewalk from NHF’s main auditorium and facility where adult Celebration and KidsDiscovery groups take place, also at 11:00am. The Annex gameroom opens at 10:30am for fellowship, snacks and fun.

Students in their weekly Celebration time enjoy worship music provided by the youth band, age-appropriate teaching, and opportunities to build relationships with other tweens and teens.

For more information about the Youth Celebration, or to volunteer, please contact Mia Peters, NHF’s Youth Ministry Leader.

Prayer Partner Network

Prayer is a powerful thing!  That’s why there are more than 40 adults within NHF, each praying for a specific youth each day.

If you’re a youth, regardless of whether you’re participating in NHF’s youth activities, and you’d like to see if having someone pray for you daily would make a difference in your life, contact Mia Peters, Youth Ministry Leader, to say you’d like to have a prayer partner to pray for you!

If you’re an adult and would like to serve as a prayer partner, contact Mia Peters, Youth Ministry Leader, to volunteer. You’ll receive a bookmark with the name of a youth and general information to guide your prayers. You’ll also be notified if your assigned youth identifies specific prayer requests. Each day, you pray for your youth, and see how God shows up in his or her life, and in yours!

Small Groups

Small groups are a way for youth to connect to other youth at New Horizons Fellowship who may share similar goals, interests, or circumstances. These groups may meet weekly, twice a month or periodically, at NHF’s facility or at other locations such as homes or coffeeshops. Three types of groups are offered– fellowship groups, study groups, and service groups. Some of these groups are gender and/or age specific (such as middle school boys or high school girls).

C4 is always looking for additional leaders and host homes to offer additional small groups.

Social Media Network

Ning is a special social media site set up exclusively for youth, leaders, and parents to meet online. It is a private network. Entrance and membership to the site are by invitation only! Unlike Facebook, this site is moderated and is intended to be a safe environment for NHF’s tweens and teens, parents, and youth leaders.

What can you do on Ning?

  • view upcoming events
  • download and print trip forms
  • read other members’ blogs or write your own
  • join in on forum discussions
  • connect with your small group between meetings
  • use the chat function (one to one or group)
  • customize your own page
  • RSVP for events with the click of a mouse
  • join a ‘parents only’ discussion group

To join, complete a request for Ning membership invitation, and that invitation will be sent to you. You can’t get into the site without it, so be sure to respond! This is a very exclusive club, designed just for you and your church family.
