Youth

New Horizons Fellowship Youth is a relational ministry that exists to reach out to unbelieving youth, to connect them to other Christians to help them grow in their faith, and to challenge growing Christians to discover their ministry and honor God with their life.

Youth Celebration, Sundays at 11:00am

New Horizons offers a Celebration designed especially for students, grades 6-12.

This Celebration takes place on Sundays at 11:00am. Youth participate with adults in the main NHF auditorium for praise and worship through music, then walk down the sidewalk to NHF West (816 E. Williams Street), for their own lesson and discussion.

Students in their weekly Celebration time enjoy age-appropriate teaching, group discussion, and opportunities to build relationships with leaders and fellow students.

Curriculum

Journey Through the Storyline of Scripture:

The Gospel Project is a Christ-centered, chronological study that will take your students on a journey through the storyline of Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation. Along the way, students will discover the big picture of what God has been doing throughout redemptive history, and what it means for them.

Features

  • 3 year journey through the Bible examining Scripture chronologically through a Christ-centered lens.
  • Highlights 99 Essential Doctrines every student should know.
  • Shows students how Christ connects with all of Scripture.
  • Challenges students to see how God’s story connects with their own story.
  • Helps students see how the gospel transforms the way they think, feel, and live from day to day.

The Gospel Project is used for the entire student ministry from infant/toddler through youth.  While each lesson is age appropriate, all ages study the same topic each Sunday.  This is a wonderful tool that enables the entire family to discuss what the kids and youth have learned while riding in the care or around the dinner table.

Prayer Partner Network

Prayer is a powerful thing!  That’s why there are more than 40 adults within NHF, each praying for a specific youth each day.

If you’re a youth, regardless of whether you’re participating in NHF’s youth activities, and you’d like to see if having someone pray for you daily would make a difference in your life, contact youth@nhf.cc to say you’d like to have a prayer partner to pray for you!

If you’re an adult and would like to serve as a prayer partner, contact youth@nhf.cc to volunteer. You’ll receive a bookmark with the name of a youth and general information to guide your prayers. You’ll also be notified if your assigned youth identifies specific prayer requests. Each day, you pray for your youth, and see how God shows up in his or her life, and in yours!
