Plug in and use your gifts through teams
Teams exist across every area of New Horizons Fellowship, covering an assortment of skills and interests, such as music, technical arts, community service, small group leadership, children, students, office skills, artistic talents, listening skills and more!
Ministry teams serve within the church body, in a variety of categories. Celebration teams offer acting or musical performance as well as behind the scenes roles. Children’s ministry teams provide the helping hands needed for KidsDiscovery on Sunday mornings and special events for children. Youth teams invest in the lives of teenagers through an assortment of opportunities. Facility teams assist with maintenance and administrative tasks related to NHF’s building. Financial teams handle the accounting and contribution processing roles for the church. Welcoming teams provide hospitality, a warm greeting and a friendly face for NHF’s activities. Counseling teams come alongside those who are hurting and offer a listening ear.
Mission teams serve outside the NHF facility, whether locally, regionally, or internationally.
Local team activities include prison ministry (Jailhouse Rock), nursing home ministry (Geriatric Jam), delivery of local Meals on Wheels, building days with Habitat for Humanity, connecting families with toys through The Christmas Store, and helping families acclimate to a new home with Refugee Resettlement.
Regionally, the Disaster Immediate Response Team (DIRT) sends teams of volunteers to assist those affected by natural disasters or other tragedies. Previous DIRT participants have gone to NYC and Washington, DC after 9/11, Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina, West Virginia after flooding, and eastern NC in response to Hurricane Floyd.
Internationally, New Horizons has current partnerships in Mexico, Belize, Southern Africa, and France, and previous relationships with Japan, Argentina, and El Salvador, as well as a connection to Olympics mission activities.
