Annual Events
NHF’s Birthday: State of the Church
Each year on the first weekend of March, NHF celebrates its birthday with a “State of the Church” message, conveying the vision and purpose of New Horizons Fellowship, including highlights of the previous year.
Maundy Thursday
On the Thursday evening before Easter, New Horizons offers a special service to reflect on Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples before being crucified.
Premarital Seminar
NHF provides two premarital seminars each year, typically in spring and fall, for couples seeking to be married by a New Horizons Fellowship staff pastor.
Parent/Child Dedication
Each Mother’s Day, NHF offers an opportunity to participate in parent/child dedication. This dedication allows parents to commit to raising their children to know God and His word, and gives the members and attenders of New Horizons Fellowship an opportunity to voice their intent to assist parents in achieving that goal.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer, kids age 4 to grade 5 enjoy a fun-filled experience and learn more about God. Each year’s theme is different. Information about registration and volunteer signup is provided a month prior to the event. See the following link for more information about this year’s VBS:

Pack a Bag…
Each year hundreds of kids in this community head back to school without the proper supplies. Throughout July, NHF gathers book bags packed with school supplies for kids of families who are helped by Western Wake Crisis Ministry. To participate, select a bookbag tag from the school bus display in the lobby and fill a backpack with the items on the list. Bring your backpack back to NHF and it will be delivered to meet the needs of both traditional calendar and year-round students.
PathFinders Weekend for Youth
In August, NHF offers a retreat weekend for students grades 6 through 12, with recreation, Bible study, relationship-building and FUN!
Back-2-School Bash
New Horizons offers its annual Back 2 School Bash, a FREE community event for all ages, on a Saturday afternoon in September. Bounce, joust, climb! Bring your friends and neighbors, people you know and people you don’t know. Enjoy lots of large inflatable games, carnival games, a cake walk, clowns and magicians. Opportunities exist for individuals, small groups and teams to do set up, clean up or staff a carnival game. Details on volunteer and material needs are published mid-summer.
Habitat for Humanity Benefit Magic Show
In the fall, NHF hosts a special benefit show provided by Ring 199 of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Admission is FREE and all donations go straight to the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. It’s a show for all ages with close-up magic and stage illusions- not to be missed!
Community Thanksgiving Celebration
The Wednesday evening before Thanksgiving, New Horizons holds a community-wide celebration to give thanks for God’s presence in our lives. In addition to worship songs, prayer and communion, there is an “open mic” element to allow individuals to share their stories.
The Christmas Store
In mid-December, New Horizons leads and hosts this event designed to provide gifts to children of local families in need. In partnership with other churches and corporations, NHF gathers toys, solicits volunteers, interviews potential clients and creates an entirely FREE shopping experience. Refreshments are served, children are cared for, gifts selected by parents are wrapped and delivered to their cars. God’s love meeting everyday needs is at the heart of every aspect of The Christmas Store.
Christmas Eve Celebrations
Each Christmas Eve, New Horizons Fellowship offers three Celebrations, at 5:30pm, 7:30pm and 11:00pm.
