Parent/Child Dedication

Families are encouraged to participate in parent/child dedication which is held each Mother’s Day. This dedication allows parents to commit to raising their children to know God and His word, and gives the members and attenders of New Horizons Fellowship an opportunity to voice their intent to assist parents in achieving that goal.

Vacation Bible School

New Horizons Fellowship offers a Vacation Bible School event for children age 4 to grade 5 each year, typically in June.  Information about registration and volunteer signup is provided several months in advance, and a VBS information booth will appear in the lobby in the weeks immediately prior to the event.  See the following link for more information about this year’s VBS:

Pack a Bag

Each year hundreds of kids in our community head back to school without the proper supplies. It is hard to succeed at any job without the right tools and this is especially true for kids in school. NHF wants to help kids get the tools they need. Over the summer, NHF gathers book bags packed with school supplies for kids of families who are helped by Western Wake Crisis Ministry. Look for the school bus display in NHF’s lobby, covered with small book bag tags. On the back of each tag is a list of school supplies for a designated grade – just take a bag tag from the display and fill a book bag with the supplies on the list. Return the filled book bags to NHF. To meet needs of traditional and year round students, bags are delivered to Western Wake Crisis Ministry as they are received at NHF and then distributed to the community.

Back-2-School Bash

Bring your friends and neighbors, people you know and people you don’t know and head for the annual Back-2-School Bash, held on a Saturday afternoon in September. Bounce, joust, climb! Enjoy lots of large inflatable games, carnival games, a cake walk, a puppet show and clowns! Come hungry – there will be lots of food! Back-2-School Bash is a community event. Everyone is welcome and everything is free! Opportunities will exist for individuals, small groups and teams to do set up, clean up or staff a carnival game. Details on volunteer and material needs will be published mid-summer. For more information now, contact Jackie Evrard, Children’s Ministry Leader.
