Balanced Believer

Becoming a balanced believer…

New Horizons believes that health, purpose and balance are found through six purposes God created for individuals and churches to pursue.

celebrate your faith… “love God with all your heart”
discover your family… “baptize them”
grow your knowledge… “teach them all things”
use your gifts… “love your neighbor as yourself”
serve your world… “[do] for one of the least of these”
share your story… “go…and make disciples”
These purposes are based on three key passages from the Bible:

“‘Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?’ Jesus replied, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments.'”
Matthew 22:36-40

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me…whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”
Matthew 25:35-36, 40

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20

Celebrate your faith

Celebrate your failth

Worship strengthens our spirits and prepares our hearts to hear from God. One of the benefits we have as human beings is to worship and praise God as Father, Savior, Liberator and Friend. Worship provides us the vehicle for letting our spirits intersect with God’s Spirit in a community of fellow believers and seekers.

Celebration Teams offer the opportunity to participate in worship, either on stage or behind the scenes.

Share your story

New Horizons Fellowship believes the Bible is God’s story, showing His love and provision for His creation. As our lives are forever changed by accepting forgiveness for our sins, we have a story of our own to share with others who are not yet in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

New Horizons Fellowship is very intentional in presenting the Good News about Jesus Christ with integrity and without emotional manipulation. Each Sunday Celebration is designed to present that message in a clear, concise and contemporary manner, so that each member attender or first-time guest can investigate and accept the claims of Jesus Christ for him or herself.

NHF is a safe environment not only for spiritual seekers, but also for those who are learning how to share their own story of a life changed by a personal relationship with God.

In addition to each week’s Sunday Celebrations, New Horizons offers simulcasts, seminars and study groups which can help you learn more about sharing your story with the friends, relatives and co-workers who don’t yet know about the way to receive forgiveness and be granted eternal life.

Serve your world

NHF reaches out into the community to meet local, regional, and international needs. These needs are met in partnership with existing organizations, which lend their knowledge and expertise to the projects NHF undertakes.

Local areas of involvement include Jailhouse Rock (prison ministry), Geriatric Jam (rest home ministry), Meals on Wheels, Western Wake Crisis Ministry, and The Christmas Store and others.

Regionally, NHF sends volunteers affiliated with its DIRT (Disaster Immediate Relief Team) to areas hit by natural disasters or terrorist acts.

Internationally, NHF has ongoing relationships with ministry activities in Argentina, Belize, France, Japan and Southern Africa.

Use your gifts

NHF offers a number of ways to utilize your time, talents and skills to help others within the church body, through teams that assist with facility, financial and office needs, as well as those which offer hospitality and welcome on Sunday mornings.

In addition to teams that assist with New Horizons’ facility, financial operations and office tasks, there are multiple opportunities to offer support to others through LifeLines teams.

LifeLines teams provide counseling, prayer and other practical helps for the challenges you may face in everyday life, while LifeLine groups offer support for those issues as well.
